Hi everyone its Jimmy, Oh my gosh I do not even know where to begin, what a journey its been so far!! Words cannot express my gratitude towards everyone for coming together and helping me and my family this way, it is unbelievable. I am truly Blessed. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!!!! When I first was diagnosed with this cancer, it put me in a very dark place in my mind, it was all doom and gloom, and its not like I don't have anything to live for, I have the most incredible family any man could ask or dream of having, but after Tara started this web site (I love you Tara!!) and reading all the comments and prayers for me it became very uplifting and made me want to get up and fight this shit even harder. For that I am eternally grateful to all of you!! My soul mate and wife Robin, who I love with all of my heart and soul, I love you baby and Thank you for being there for me, I look forward to many many many more years together!! Everyone, next Thursday its time to start kickin' some Cancer ass, I am tired of it kickin' mine and I promise all of you I will fight my f...in ass off!! Thank you all once again and look forward to getting together with everyone when this is all over. Until then God Bless you all!!
Hello again to all!! We had a safe trip to and from Shands today.
Met with whole group of doc's and surgeons referred to as The Tumor Board. Every Tuesday they convene to discuss a few different patients and how to best treat each individual. After the meeting all, 6-7 medical professionals walk through and talk to each patient!!! WOW!
They went over their surgical plan for Jimmy again-they will remove area where tumor or tumors are located(under tongue) in floor of mouth. They will then reconstruct that area with skin and blood vessels from under-side of wrist. The wrist area will be grafted with skin from under-side of upper arm. They will also be making long incision on outside of neck, where necessary, to remove a large number of lymph nodes from both sides!!! The nodes will ALL be examined under microscope to ensure no cancer cells made it that far. If the Pathologist's do find anything then radiation would be required.
Surgery is scheduled for next Thursday 3/7. Will be in hospital for about a week. One of the surgeons sat with Jimmy and I and answered lots of questions for us. He was very patient
and attentive. He told us that Jimmy will handle surgery and recovery very well, since he is young and healthy for the most part. All and all it was a great day!

BTW, Jimmy gained 2-3lbs since we were last @ Shands!!! WOOOHOOO!!! It was the SOUP!!!
