I've made 4 bracelets this week and quite a few pairs of earrings with some new pearls I got. What is it about pearls, I wonder? They just look and feel so special and as soon as you put them on, you feel special, too.
The hard part is deciding which color pearl is your favorite, I think. Right now I go back and forth between peacock pearls and your standard white ones. Which do you like?
This week's feature BEST Team member is Elle's Beads.
In her own words:
"My mantra is that beautiful and fun jewelry can be made from simple beads. You'll find my funky fabric barrettes and brooches here as well as jewelry made from vintage beads, charms, and findings."
Looking through her shop, I'm loving it! And of course I'd showcase these colors:
The giveaway for the beautiful botanical brass birdy necklace ended on June 28th and we had a LOT of entries. Seems everyone wanted a chance to win that sweet necklace and who can blame them? I'd have entered if I could!

Have you heard about this? There is a store on Etsy and its entire purpose is to raise money to help the Gulf Coast recover from the oil spill disaster. Oil has been spilling, no, gushing into the Gulf of Mexico for TWO MONTHS now and there is no end in sight.
A lot of us would love to be able to help but don't live near the crisis area. Well, here's a wonderful way that you can help! You can either donate an item to the Help the Gulf Coast store or you can purchase something from it. 100% off all proceeds are donated to OxFam America and the National Wildlife Federation. Both organizations have given them permission to fundraise on their behalf. To date, over $5000 has been donated from the sales!
I have been a historical fiction fan for years and am always on the lookout and the hunt for good ones.
Just recently I read the Josephine B. trilogy by Sandra Gulland and just loved them. I cried at the end of the third. What a sad but strong love Josephine and Napoleon had!
Right now I am reading Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross. It tells the story of a girl named Joan who grew up in the 800s between France (Frankland) and Rome. She pretended to be a boy and then a man because women were not allowed to be scholars, or indeed anything other than wives and childbearers. The book tells how she grew from child to woman (man) and became Pope.
No one agrees on whether or not Pope Joan is fictional or not but the book is fascinating. Here is the wiki page on her if anyone cares to read up on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope_Joan
So tell me, what have you been reading lately? Anything that you just love?
